Should we give away our sovereignty willingly? Everyone is devastated that a deranged person opened fire and killed 26 people in a senseless killing in Connecticut. However our response should not be an action equally deranged. Law-abiding people did not do the killing, so the answer should not be to take away the rights of everyone else.
Before acting hastily,
we should all study “Gun Control, Gateway to Tyranny.” A leader who
wants to take over a country goes through a methodical process. Register
gun owners, register guns, confiscate guns and intimidate the citizens.
All the while whispering, we’re not taking away your freedom or your
Second Amendment rights. We’re protecting you.
After firearms laws were put into place in Germany, 13 million Jews were killed; firearms laws in China, 20 million anti-Communists exterminated; in Guatemala, 100,000 Mayan Indians; Cambodia, 1 million educated people eliminated; in the Soviet Union, 20 million anti-communists and many others in other countries were tyrannized by despot leaders who first disarmed them.
Chicago has the strongest gun-control laws yet the most murders. How about eliminating the bomb-making instructions on the Internet and the violent video games that make a game out of killing humans.
